The Association for Meat, Poultry, and Seafood Innovation (AMPS) congratulates our member companies—BlueNalu, Vow, Gourmey, and Uncommon Bio—as well as Mosa Meat, our partner in the Global Cellular Agriculture Alliance, for their selection to participate in the UK’s groundbreaking regulatory sandbox for cell-cultivated products. This initiative, launched by the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA), represents a major milestone in fostering transparent, science-driven regulatory pathways for cultivated meat and seafood.
As the first-of-its-kind regulatory sandbox for cultivated products, this program will allow companies to engage directly with regulators and establish best practices that can serve as a model for other nations. The UK’s leadership in regulatory innovation aligns with global efforts to create clear, scientifically replicable standards for frameworks that ensure consumer safety while accelerating responsible commercialization.
This development is particularly significant for the United States as we continue to advocate for robust, evidence-based regulation that supports the growth of the cultivated meat industry while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and transparency. The insights gained from the UK sandbox will help inform international regulatory harmonization, benefiting consumers, producers, and policymakers worldwide.
Congratulations again to BlueNalu, Vow, Gourmey, Uncommon Bio, and Mosa Meat for leading the way in shaping the future of food innovation.
